After rigorous testing, GMC found that the CarbonPro™ bed is strong enough to withstand drop tests from objects like cinderblocks and 1,800 pounds of gravel. It’s naturally resistant to corrosion and weighs 25 percent less than a steel bed. That weight reduction, alongside carbon fiber’s natural strength, can increase your Sierra’s max payload by up to 59 pounds. Because of its thin stature, the CarbonPro™ bed gives properly equipped Sierra trucks superior cargo space and completely eliminates the need for spray-on liners and rear-wheelhouse liners.
