Exploring Sporty Sophistication: The 2012 Buick Regal GS

Rumors aren't always true, but then again, sometimes they are. You may have heard whisperings that the new 2012 Buick Regal GS is quite the sporty vehicle, and now Transwest Buick GMC can confirm those stories as true. That's right, readers. Your grandfather's Buick looks downright dowdy compared to this fresh-faced Buick. And, did we mention the new Buick Regal houses 270-horsepower as GM's highest specific output engine ever created?
The new GS boasts a bigger, bolder body and framework than the Buick brand is accustomed. And, while the last Regal GS (which then stood for Gran Sport) was more or less your grandfather's Buick with a V-6 thrown in, this version prides itself in being a Euro sophisticate. The EPA clocks the vehicle in at 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway with the six-speed manual transmission. The get-up-and-go is also impressive, with a rating of 0 to 60 in 6.2 seconds. Inside, the Buick Regal harbors classic dark shades and interesting textures, along with an Interactive Drive Control System.
Craig Bierley, Product Marketing Director for Buick, explains the new Regal's appeal, saying, "We designed the Regal GS to explore the appeal of a high-performance variant of the Regal. Like the Regal, the Regal GS is based on the award-winning Opel Insignia, and we believe it will reinvigorate Buick's storied Gran Sport legacy."1 With features such as heated front seats, ultrasonic parking assist, and bi-xenon HID headlamps, the new Regal GS in sure to impress.
